BILL GATES TRIES TO DESTROY ELON THEN ASKS FOR MONEY
Gates was angry with Musk for his skepticism regarding extreme Covid measures, so he shorted Tesla to try to bankrupt it. Coincidence?
This selling pressure occurred at Tesla’s weakest time, in the midst of Covid. Bill Gates would have profited if Tesla went bankrupt.
WHAT HAPPENED:
- July 2020: Gates criticized Musk for downplaying the severity of Covid and (rightly) criticizing stay-at-home orders: "[Elon’s] not heavily involved in vaccines. He excels in electric cars and rockets. ... I hope he doesn't overstep in areas outside his expertise" (the irony of a software company CEO discussing the virus).
- 2020: That same year, Gates started shorting Tesla
- March 2022: Gates had the audacity to approach Musk to discuss philanthropy and climate issues, hoping for a donation after Musk donated $5.7 billion in Telsta stock to a charity.
- April 2022: Musk obviously declined Gates' request, citing Gates' $500m short position against Tesla as the reason.
- April 2022: Gates admits to still be shorting Tesla, despite asking Musk for money! I’m not making this up! 😂
- Today: Elon clarified his stance on Gates: “Gates placed a massive bet on Tesla dying when our company was at one of its weakest moments.”
He believes Gates “still has that massive bet against Tesla on the table.. aiming to make $500M from Tesla’s demise.” Calling Gate’s charities, “window-dressing environmental causes.”
IN MY OPINION, Gates' actions are unethical to say the least.
He claims to care about the environment while shorting the world's most successful electric vehicle company.
He suggests that @elonmusk should not discuss vaccines and COVID-19 due to a lack of qualifications, yet he himself opines on the topic without appropriate expertise.
Gates' decision to short Tesla, nearly driving it to bankruptcy, and then asking for a donation seems contradictory and questionable.
Was Gates trying to bankrupt Elon due to his Covid stance?
