He says Hamas members who broke into Israel were carrying instructions on how to make chemical weapons. Israeli forces claim they discovered the material on the body of a dead fighter in Kibbutz Be'eri. "It's Al Qaeda material. Official Al Qaeda material. We are dealing with ISIS, Al Qaeda and Hamas. This is how shocking the situation is where we're looking at the instructions that are given on how to operate and how to create a kind of non-professional chemical weapon with cyanide."

🚨🚨STATEMENT FROM SECRETARY OF DEFENSE AUSTIN Statement on Steps to Increase Force Posture: Following detailed discussions with President Biden on recent escalations by Iran and its proxy forces across the Middle East Region, today I directed a series of additional steps to further strengthen the Department of Defense posture in the region. These steps will bolster regional deterrence efforts, increase force protection for U.S. forces in the region, and assist in the defense of Israel. First, I redirected the movement of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group to the Central Command area of responsibility. This carrier strike group is in addition to the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group, which is currently operating in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. It will further increase our force posture and strengthen our capabilities and ability to respond to a range of contingencies. I have also activated the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery as well as additional Patriot battalions to locations throughout the region to increase force protection for U.S. forces. Finally, I have placed an additional number of forces on prepare to deploy orders as part of prudent contingency planning, to increase their readiness and ability to quickly respond as required. I will continue to assess our force posture requirements in the region and consider deploying additional capabilities as necessary.

🚨🚨BREAKING - U.S CENTRAL COMMAND STATEMENT: "In response to recent escalations by Iran & its proxy forces across the Middle East, Secretary of Defense Austin directed the USS Eisenhower, a THAAD BTRY, & additional Patriot BNs to the CENTCOM region to increase force posture, strengthen capabilities & ability to respond to contingencies."

🚨TECH CEO RESIGNS OVER ISRAEL 'WAR CRIMES' POST Paddy Cosgrave, Web Summit CEO, resigned after backlash from his Israel ‘war crimes’ post. Paddy initially posted: “I’m shocked at the rhetoric and actions of so many Western leaders & governments, with the exception in particular of Ireland’s government, who for once are doing the right thing. War crimes are war crimes even when committed by allies, and should be called out for what they are.” Two days later, after initial backlash, he posted: "First, what Hamas did is outrageous and disgusting. It is by every measure an act of monstrous evil. Israel has a right to defend itself, but it does not, as I have already stated, have a right to break international law." After receiving more backlash, he apologized, then added: “I also believe that, in defending itself, Israel should adhere to international law and the Geneva Conventions – ie not commit war crimes. This belief applies equally to any state in any war. No country should breach these laws, even if atrocities were committed against it.” This wasn't enough to win over key sponsors, including Google and Stripe, who boycotted the event due to the earlier comments. Paddy has now resigned.

🚨🚨BREAKING - HEZBOLLAH WILL NOT JOIN WAR | UNAWARE OF HAMAS ATTACK Lebanon’s Foreign Minister: - Hamas told Iran and Hezbollah that it is able to withstand a ground battle for months - Hezbollah will not intervene once the invasion of Gaza begins, unless the destruction is too vast, or unless there is a major attack on Lebanon. - Hezbollah and Iran told us that they were not aware in advance of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation (The Oct 7 attack by Hamas), and Blinken confirmed this in previous statements. - I warn the West that any war with Hezbollah will make Hezbollah stronger, as we saw in the 2006 war. - Our friends in the West should pressure Israel for a ceasefire, and refrain from waging a war - All provocation thus far have been issued by Israeli officials, while Hezbollah has not issued any provocative speech, and the leader Nasrallah has not spoken publicly since the attacks. - It is the job of the US to mediate with Israel and avoid a regional war - A regional war will make it impossible for Israel to destroy Hamas - Lebanon was not asked to join the meeting that happened in Cairo.
