🚨🇺🇸 Another arrest for online threats against the president. Genuine question: how many of these does it take before people figure out the FBI has access to the internet? t.co/gwnDKjv4PE

🇺🇸🇬🇧 "He owed them a meeting." A sitting U.S. Congressman is calling out King Charles over Epstein. Ro Khanna says the King's refusal to meet with the family of his brother Andrew's alleged victim is a slap in the face to survivors. t.co/z0STEsfj7c

RECAP: A lot landed at once today. Some of it ceremonial, most of it not, and none of it pointing in the same direction: 🇦🇪 The UAE just announced it's leaving OPEC on May 1. One of the only members with real spare capacity, gone. The cartel loses its most credible swing producer. 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Trump welcomed King Charles to the White House today. Charles then addressed a joint session of Congress. It was actually a heartwarming visit 🇬🇧 The new UK Ambassador chose today to leak that the US is more likely to have a special relationship with Israel than the UK. Timing is immaculate. 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran's Hormuz proposal got rejected. They're writing a new one. The original offer, end the war now, nuclear talks later, was a non-starter for Trump, who wants the nuclear file in any deal. 🇺🇸 US intelligence is meanwhile studying how Iran would react to Trump declaring victory and going home. Their own previous analysis says Tehran would call it a win. Almost a dozen C-17s are currently flying toward the Middle East anyway. 🇵🇰 Pakistan opened 6 land corridors with Iran to route around the naval blockade. 3,000+ containers already moving. Grain of salt on the numbers, but the move itself is real. 🇲🇱 Al-Qaeda's Sahel branch declared a total siege of Bamako and claimed credit for killing Mali's defense minister. The junta is still officially denying he's dead. 🇺🇸 Elon showed up in person at the OpenAI trial. His argument: Altman took a nonprofit built for humanity and flipped it into a for-profit empire worth hundreds of billions. Day 2. 🇺🇸 Comey indicted a second time. Fauci's top deputy at NIAID federally charged with felony counts. The Trump DOJ is having a productive Tuesday. 🇺🇸 Trump approval at 34%. Grocery prices, $110 oil, an Iran war with no exit, and envoys who can't close. The numbers aren't complicated.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Rep. McBride said the UK is doing more to hold Epstein-connected elites accountable than U.S. Prince Andrew lost his titles and Mandelson lost his ambassadorship, while the U.S. names in those files are still largely untouched. Sad but true. t.co/v9Mn2HWy5i

🇺🇸 Mentalist Oz Pearlman was standing right next to Trump when shots rang out at the WHCA Dinner this weekend. Now he’s pulled out of his Monday spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Here’s where it gets messy. Two days before all this, Kimmel ran a skit calling Melania an “expectant widow.” Pearlman later called the moment “nefarious and dangerous” and said watching it back felt surreal. Maybe it’s just the worst timing. Maybe it’s more than that. Either way… those optics aren’t great for Kimmel. Source: FOX

🇺🇸 The Pentagon just greenlit a 24,000% budget increase for drones. From $225M to $55B in a single year. Cheap, disposable swarms beat expensive one-shot systems every time. Ukraine and the Red Sea proved it, and the U.S. is finally catching up. Source: Fox News t.co/XEocG0CJbv

🇺🇸 $400 million for a federally secured ballroom sounds insane until you remember someone just shot a Secret Service agent at a rented Hilton. Customs fees pay for it. One-time build. No more borrowing a hotel lobby and hoping for the best every time the President needs to attend a dinner. The ballroom isn't the punchline. The punchline is that we didn't build it 20 years ago. Graham's right and it's annoying. Change my mind.

🇺🇸 Fauci's right-hand man just got federally indicted. Dr. David Morens, top advisor at NIAID, facing felony charges. Morens was already caught on record bragging about deleting official emails to dodge FOIA requests t.co/ASRoY1npha

🇮🇱🇱🇧 Netanyahu on Hezbollah tunnels in Lebanon: "Today, we blew up a massive Hezbollah terrorist tunnel. We are destroying their terrorist infrastructure, we are killing scores of terrorists, and we are not done yet." And civilian infrastructure, too. t.co/1WXcla9FMk

🇺🇸 Federal agents just raided the Somali Senior Center in Minneapolis. Part of 20+ simultaneous search warrants executed across the city today. Minnesota has been the epicenter of the largest government subsidy fraud cases in U.S. history. Looks like feds are still pulling threads. How deep does this go? @nicksortor

🚨 ELON IS IN THE COURTROOM Day 2 of the OpenAI trial. He showed up in person. His argument: Altman and Brockman took a non-profit built to benefit humanity and converted it into a for-profit empire worth hundreds of billions. No shareholder vote and no public consent. A quiet structural transformation while nobody was watching which @ElonMusk wants unwound. Can you just take a charity and turn it into a corporation? Not on Elon's watch!

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The US doesn't need to clear every Iranian mine from the Strait of Hormuz. Energy Secretary Chris Wright just confirmed it: a safe shipping corridor is enough to reopen oil flows. Full demining could take up to 6 months. A narrow corridor? Weeks. That's not a small distinction. Every day Hormuz stays closed, fuel prices climb and the global economy absorbs another hit. The Pentagon knows full clearance is the ideal. But the US is choosing the faster path: get one lane open, get oil moving, deal with the rest later. Pragmatism over perfection. That's the play. 🇺🇸 BREAKING: Federal agents hit multiple childcare centers in Minneapolis today as part of a sweeping fraud investigation. We are talking tens of millions (maybe more) in fraudulently claimed government subsidies funneled through childcare programs. t.co/yiYqaLntFm

🇲🇱🇷🇺 Russia once replaced France in Mali. Now, the Islamic State is taking towns while Russian-backed forces retreat to bunkers. The Islamic State just seized Ménaka, the regional capital. Malian and Wagner-era troops pulled back to a fortified camp outside the city instead of defending it. The same thing happened in Kidal. Source: BBC

RECAP: The big news of the day: UAE’s exit from the OPEC cartel, a seismic move in energy geopolitics. The UAE decided they weren’t benefiting from the arrangement anymore, and it’s hard to fault them for thinking so. Huge ramifications for Saudi, Russia, and others. Trump says Iran told him they are in a ‘state of collapse’ and want Hormuz opened ASAP. Trump had said the U.S. blockade would cost Tehran $500M per day, and while estimates vary, it’s certainly costing them. The man who tried to attack the WHCD over the weekend has been formally charged with attempting to assassinate the president. Hopefully they throw the book at him. Federal agents are executing raids on Minnesota businesses and childcare centers, as part of a sweeping fraud investigation. Ilhan Omar had no comment, but is concerned World War 12 could begin any day… And lastly, King Charles is in the second day of his state visit to the United States, and is set to meet Trump in the Oval, either for tea and biscuits or McDonald’s. 😂

🇷🇺🇲🇱 Russian and Malian troops have pulled out of Kidal, a key city in northern Mali, after coordinated attacks by rebel and jihadist groups. Mali’s military rulers, who took power in a 2021 coup, brought in Russia after cutting ties with France, but the situation has kept getting worse. The latest attacks killed Defence Minister Sadio Camara and hit targets in the capital Bamako, leaving the leadership shaken. Kidal is now in the hands of an unusual alliance: the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), a Tuareg separatist group seeking independence, and JNIM, an al-Qaeda-linked jihadist group. These groups don’t usually work together, which makes this a big shift, and a much bigger problem for the government. It’s now raising real questions about whether Russia’s support is actually helping, and how long the current leadership can hold on. Source: Financial Times

🚨 WAR UPDATE 🇩🇪 Germany’s Merz said the war hasn’t been resolved, despite early expectations it would be over in days. 🇺🇸 Trump met with his national security team in the Oval Office, weighing two paths: resume bombing or send negotiators to Pakistan. 🇺🇸Rubio called the Strait of Hormuz an “economic nuclear weapon,” noting it carries 25% of global oil flow. 🇮🇱 Netanyahu faces a new political challenge, as Bennett and Lapid merged forces to run against him in upcoming elections. 🇮🇷 Six Iranian prisoners reportedly sang defiant songs before execution, highlighting internal unrest and repression. 🇺🇸 Rubio described Iran’s internal divide between pragmatists and hardline theologians, with the Supreme Leader above both factions. 🇺🇸The U.S. seized another Iranian tanker in the Malacca Strait, showing the blockade now extends thousands of miles beyond the Gulf. 🇷🇺🇮🇷 Iran deepened ties with Russia, with Araghchi thanking Putin for “solidarity” as pressure from the U.S. continues.

Elon: I don’t trust Sam Altman or OpenAI "I started that company as a nonprofit, open-source organization. I named it OpenAI for a reason. And now it is extremely closed source and focused on maximizing profit… At various points, Sam has claimed not to be getting rich, but he’s claimed many things that were false… So I don’t trust Sam Altman, and I don’t think we want the most powerful AI in the world controlled by someone who is not trustworthy.” @slow_developer
