🇺🇸 Diesel refining margins hit $115 a barrel. Normal is $20 to $30.
Rory Johnston, founder of Commodity Context, has the prompt diesel contract sitting around $220 a barrel equivalent while Brent trades at $105, and physical crude delivered today commands a $25 premium over the same barrel two months out.
Five or six times normal, on a market already running hot since 2022.
Every refinery in America is maxed out, so the only thing that closes this gap is demand breaking first, which nobody wants to say out loud.
