🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦 Trump’s team thinks a Russian diesel deal could get Putin back to peace talks.
Witkoff and Kushner told Ukraine that with the diesel deal done, and Ukraine laying off Russian refineries, the U.S. can go back to Putin and say, “Now it’s your turn to do something.”
With this deal, Russia gets to sell more than 2.25 million barrels of diesel, which Trump says will lower fuel prices, though it’s less than a day’s worth for U.S. transport.
Zelensky isn’t convinced, calling it a “gift to Putin,” and a source close to the Kremlin says Putin won’t talk until he gets the rest of the Donbas.
So Russia gets the cash, its demands haven’t budged, and maybe it really is a gift to Putin.

@MarioNawfal This diesel deal may create leverage, but rewarding Putin before any ceasefire risks legitimizing aggression and delaying real peace. His point of view is also worth considering. @Robert197071
