Nevertheless, it is fair to observe that the numerical claim of 1.8 million is hyperbolic and overstates the share of the Gazan population that actively desires the torture and death of every Jew and would act on that desire at the first opportunity. The exaggeration, however, is confined to the precise percentage. It does not distort the central reality. The description corresponds with striking accuracy to a very large portion of Gaza’s population. Whether that portion constitutes a majority, approaches 1.8 million, or stands nearer to 1.2 million remains a secondary dispute over scale. Those charges are inventions of your own, advanced with calculated distortion and without any foundation in what was actually said.
