🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 CENTCOM confirms it blew up an Iranian spy boat that was picking targets for the IRGC in the Gulf of Oman
The strike happened Oct. 6, according to a new CENTCOM statement, and the crew were taken off before the boat was destroyed.
Reuters just reported that US forces found Iranian spotters working from a dhow and calling in positions of ships, US warships included, after American strikes wrecked Iran's coastal radars.
One detail stands out: CENTCOM says it's working to send the crew "to their home countries," which suggests the IRGC is also hiring foreign sailors to do its spotting.
The statement also accuses the Guard of "random targeting of thousands of civilian seafarers" over seven months, which is the case for sinking the next one.
But a dhow costs nothing and the Gulf is FULL of them, so the Navy just announced a game of whack-a-mole it can't really afford and can't fully win.
