🇫🇷 She was one minute from being raped in her own apartment at 11am on a bright day. French activist Thaïs d'Escufon shared what happened when a man followed her inside and locked the door, and what the police told her after. "The police officer told me that there were more than 5000 cases, profiles just like mine in my area." @thaisescufon

🇫🇷 A French court nearly sent her to prison for four months over a single sentence about immigration and crime. French activist Thaïs d'Escufon broke down what happened after she said it out loud. "The prosecutor told me that I was using a poor incident to justify my racist discourse and that I should be sent to jail." She now wears a Covid mask and sunglasses in public just to avoid being attacked in her own country. @thaisescufon

🇺🇸🇮🇱🇮🇷 Iran's FM Araghchi is responding to renewed talk of FINISHING THE WAR against IRAN with a personal warning. “Want to try your luck again? Be our guest. But be careful; we have unfinished jobs too.” Netanyahu, he says, is dragging America into war partly to keep himself out of prison. So Tehran’s message to Washington is basically: before you bomb us again, consult Israel’s court calendar please. Writer: Oliver

🇬🇧🇷🇺 Britain is talking about war with Russia while lacking the military strength to fight one. Brandon Weichert spoke with Ian Proud, a former British diplomat who served in Moscow and helped authorize UK sanctions against Russia. And Proud had a rather uncomfortable assessment of Britain's position. The British Army has roughly 73,000 troops. Russia has around 1.5 million military personnel and one of the world's largest nuclear arsenals. Yet senior British military figures are increasingly discussing the possibility of confrontation with Moscow. Proud believes Britain has spent years talking about Russia while largely abandoning the harder work of talking to Russia. He also described being detained for three hours at Heathrow after attending the Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow, despite notifying the British government of his trip beforehand. But his bigger concern is Ukraine. Proud argues that Russia has the manpower, energy resources and industrial capacity to sustain the conflict far longer than Ukraine and its European supporters. He believes Moscow could accept a settlement centered on the Donbas, but warns that continued refusal to negotiate could eventually encourage Russia to push farther toward Kyiv or Odesa. And there's a political problem Western leaders may find even harder to confront. Proud argues that any eventual peace agreement could leave Ukraine with worse terms than those discussed in 2022, after years of casualties and enormous financial costs. Britain's leaders may be preparing their population for a confrontation with Russia. Proud thinks they should be preparing them for the compromises necessary to avoid one. @WeTheBrandon @proud_diplomat

🇺🇦🇷🇺🇪🇺 Kyiv is now a frontline city. Odessa is blockaded. And Ukraine has practically no air defense left. Alex Christoforou, political analyst and co-founder of The Duran, came on to say what Western media won’t. “How are you going to fight a war with no air defense? Zero. None.” Russia captured Dopropylia this week. Putin’s order to his generals was two words: keep pressing. Slavyansk and Kramatorsk are next. So is Zaporizhzhia, which sits on the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Russia’s new Starlink competitor is now guiding strikes into western Ukraine. Refugee lines are forming on the Polish border. Winter hasn’t even started yet. Europe is burning because it sanctioned its own energy supplier to defend a country that isn’t even in the EU. The EU keeps holding emergency summits, every one of them about Ukraine, NEVER about their own people. Putin thought he had a deal in Istanbul. He thought he had a deal in Anchorage. Both times the neocons got to Trump first. Where this ends: Russia takes Odessa. Russia takes Kyiv. What comes after, even Putin may not have figured out yet. @AXChristoforou

🚨🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦 Trump says he WON'T take new action against Russia while peace talks with Ukraine are making progress... POTUS doesn't want to push Moscow away from the negotiating table, and he argues Russia is currently doing “very little, if anything” to help Iran, something he wants to preserve. He also accused Zelensky of targeting Russian diesel refineries and hurting global fuel markets, including American farmers and businesses. Those are Trump's claims, and the post itself provides no supporting evidence. “I WANT THIS WAR END!” Trump wrote, while arguing he can take tougher action against Russia later if negotiations fail. 🇫🇷🇾🇪🇸🇦🇮🇷 France is burning again. Riots across the country, a city hall that survived two world wars torched in Limoges, Jewish stores targeted by migrants... The short-term trigger: energy prices from the Iran war. The long-term cause: 50 years of mass migration policy that no government wants to name out loud. Egypt’s parliament is moving to approve sending troops, jets, and air defenses to help Saudi fight the Houthis in Yemen. Two Egyptian C-130s have already landed. The Houthis shot down a Saudi helicopter near the border and are still advancing. What began as a regional flare-up is pulling in Egypt, the UAE, and soon others. Trump endorsed Netanyahu for reelection. It moved his polling numbers by 5 points in the wrong direction. GOP Senate odds have dropped from 72% to 38% since the Iran war started. 🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran says it can reopen the Strait of Hormuz in just 6 DAYS. But Washington would have to meet Tehran’s conditions first... FM Araghchi says Tehran’s proposal to the U.S. remains on the table: lift the blockade on Iranian ports, remove sanctions on Iranian oil exports and end hostilities across the region. If Washington agrees, Iran says Hormuz could reopen within 6 days and negotiations could resume the following day. The major sticking point is Iran’s nuclear program, with the U.S. demanding a meaningful reduction in Tehran’s uranium enrichment capacity. Before the war, roughly one-fifth of global oil and LNG trade passed through Hormuz. Source: Reuters / Writer: Samuel
