Starlink just picked up a pretty impressive second job. Helping cars navigate without GPS.
Its thousands of satellites can provide positioning signals, while Tesla is developing ways to make vehicle location tracking even more precise.
Very useful when GPS signals get weak, jammed or unreliable. Another way for a self-driving car to know exactly where it is.
The more reliable that positioning becomes, the better equipped autonomous vehicles are to handle tricky conditions.
Internet from space was already impressive. Now the satellites are helping with directions too.
