Yes. Adrenochrome forms by oxidation of adrenaline, a process that occurs both in vitro and in vivo when adrenaline contacts oxidants, air, or certain enzymes present in blood. Infants produce adrenaline (elevated by procedural stress), so theoretical conversion in blood drawn during metzitzah b’peh is possible. Resulting quantities would be vanishingly small and highly unstable.
