I was pleased to welcome and speak with a cross-bench delegation of members of the House of Lords. I spoke with them about my decision to end the operations of the British Consulate in Jerusalem and other counter measures I had to take in response to Labour government’s policies against Israel. Very good and frank conversation! We still have good friends in the UK.

Congratulations, dear friend!

Over the past week, we held a dialogue with the British Government with the aim of preventing further deterioration in relations between the countries as a result of the closure of the Consulate. Last night, we reached understandings based on the following principles: 1. As I announced, the British Consulate in Jerusalem ended its role today. The Consul General and 19 diplomats are ending their assignments and will leave Israel. 2. The building that served as the Consulate is the property of the British Government. We have allowed the British Government to operate a task force of only seven diplomats from the building, which ceased to function as a consulate today. Their scope of activity will be very limited. 3. We agreed on the continuation of dialogue between the governments, within which both sides will be able to raise issues important to them. We believe in dialogue and will continue to believe in dialogue. Unfortunately, in recent years, no genuine dialogue has taken place with the Labour Government. This is despite good relations with Britain, reflected, among other things, in security and intelligence cooperation. Relations between Israel and Britain are important and have repeatedly proven their value also in protecting the lives and interests of British citizens. Only recently, Israel provided Britain with vital information in the RAF Fairford affair. All four measures in my statement of 8 September have been implemented. Alongside this, we reached understandings that serve Israel’s interests. In accordance with the understandings we reached, no measures will be taken against Israel as a result of the implementation of the decisions. I thank everyone who was involved in the dialogue and discussions and contributed to reaching the understandings on both sides. I cannot promise that there will not be further crises in the future. If there are, we will face them on the basis of our core principles. It is important to emphasise again that we did not initiate the current situation. We are interested in good relations with all the countries of the world. But any country that acts against Israel must know that there will be a price for doing so. It will not gain from this, but quite the opposite. Israel will no longer turn its cheek to diplomatic attacks against it.

We established a clear principle: It is not possible to act against Israel without Israel taking appropriate measures in response. In this spirit, the measures I announced on 8 September have been implemented: 1.The removal of the British representatives from the International Gaza Support Center in Kiryat Gat. 2.The termination of British activity to train Palestinian Authority forces in Judea and Samaria. 3.The denial of entry to Israel of 12 British elected officials and other British citizens involved in antisemitic and anti-Israel activity, as well as those who deny our very right to exist. 4.The British Consulate in Jerusalem is ending its operations today. Accordingly, the sign of the British Consulate in Jerusalem has been removed. We did not want to reach this point, but the actions of the UK Labour Government brought us here. Their latest decision in this series was to initiate a range of far-reaching sanctions against the communities in Judea and Samaria, as well as additional sanctions on defence exports to Israel. All this was accompanied by hostile rhetoric, including false accusations against Israel, such as accusations of “ethnic cleansing.” This decision adds to a growing and escalating series of unilateral measures against Israel adopted by the Labour Government since taking office in July 2024. These measures included, among others, unilateral recognition of a virtual “Palestinian state” in September 2025; the renewal of funding to UNRWA; the suspension of licences for defence exports to Israel; the imposition of sanctions on Israeli ministers; the imposition of sanctions on Israeli individuals and entities; the suspension of negotiations on a free trade agreement; restrictions on Israel’s official participation in an international defence and security equipment exhibition in Britain; the freezing of military dialogue and security cooperation; the prevention of IDF officers from participating in training at the Royal College of Defence Studies; and repeated, biased and unilateral attacks against Israel in the international arena.

קבענו עקרון ברור – לא ניתן לפעול נגד ישראל מבלי שישראל תנקוט צעדי תגובה הולמים. ברוח זו יושמו הצעדים שעליהם הכרזתי ב-8 בספטמבר: 1. סילוק הנציגים הבריטים ממרכז הסיוע הבינלאומי לעזה בקרית גת. 2. הפסקת הפעילות הבריטית להכשרת כוחות הרשות הפלסטינית ביהודה ושומרון. 3. מניעת כניסתם לישראל של 12 נבחרי ציבור ואזרחים בריטים אחרים המעורבים בפעילות אנטישמית ואנטי-ישראלית וכאלו אשר שוללים את עצם קיומה של מדינת ישראל. 4. הקונסוליה הבריטית בירושלים מסיימת את פעילותה היום. בהתאם, השלט של הקונסוליה הבריטית בירושלים הוסר. לא רצינו להגיע לכך, אבל פעולות ממשלת הלייבור הובילו אותנו לכאן. ההחלטה האחרונה בסדרה היתה ליזום שורה של סנקציות מרחיקות-לכת כנגד ההתיישבות ביהודה ושומרון, כמו גם סנקציות נוספות שעניינן הרחבת השעיית רישיונות ייצוא ביטחוני לישראל. כל זאת, לצד רטוריקה עויינת הכוללת האשמות שקריות נגד ישראל, כגון ב״טיהור אתני״. החלטה זו מצטרפת לשורה הולכת ומסלימה של צעדים חד-צדדיים נגד ישראל שאימצה ממשלת הלייבור מאז כניסתה לתפקיד ביולי 2024. צעדים אלה כללו בין היתר, הכרה חד-צדדית ב"מדינה פלסטינית" וירטואלית בספטמבר 2025; חידוש המימון לאונר״א; השעיית רישיונות לייצוא ביטחוני לישראל; הטלת סנקציות על שרים ישראלים; הטלת סנקציות על יחידים וגופים ישראליים; השעיית המשא ומתן על הסכם סחר חופשי; הגבלת השתתפותה הרשמית של ישראל בתערוכה בינלאומית לציוד ביטחון והגנה בבריטניה; הקפאת הדיאלוג הצבאי ושיתוף הפעולה הביטחוני; מניעת השתתפותם של קציני צה״ל בהשתלמות בקולג׳ המלכותי ללימודי ביטחון; התקפות מגמתיות חוזרות ונשנות וחד-צדדיות נגד ישראל בזירה הבינ"ל. בשבוע האחרון קיימנו דיאלוג עם ממשלת בריטניה במטרה למנוע הסלמה נוספת ביחסים בין המדינות עקב סגירת הקונסוליה. אמש הגענו להבנות המבוססות על העקרונות הבאים: 1. כפי שהודעתי - הקונסוליה הבריטית בירושלים סיימה את תפקידה היום. הקונסולית הכללית ו-20 דיפלומטים (כולל הקונסולית הכללית) מסיימים את תפקידם ויעזבו את ישראל. 2. המבנה ששימש את הקונסוליה הוא רכושה של ממשלת בריטניה. אישרנו לממשלת בריטניה להפעיל במבנה, שחדל לשמש היום כקונסוליה, צוות משימה של 7 דיפלומטים בלבד בהיקף פעילות מצומצם מאוד. 3. סיכמנו על המשך דיאלוג בין הממשלות במסגרתו שני הצדדים יוכלו להעלות את הסוגיות החשובות עבור כל אחת מהן. אנחנו מאמינים בדיאלוג ונמשיך להאמין בדיאלוג. לצערנו בשנים האחרונות לא התקיים דיאלוג אמיתי עם ממשלת הלייבור. זאת, על אף יחסים טובים עם בריטניה, הבאים לידי ביטוי בין היתר בשת"פ ביטחוני ומודיעיני. היחסים בין ישראל ובריטניה חשובים, והוכיחו שוב ושוב את ערכם גם בהגנה על חייהם ועל האינטרסים של אזרחי בריטניה. רק לאחרונה העבירה ישראל לבריטניה מידע חיוני בפרשת RAF Fairford. כל ארבעת הצעדים בהצהרה שלי מ-8 בספטמבר - מומשו. לצד זאת, הגענו להבנות שמשרתות את האינטרסים הישראלים. בהתאם להבנות שהגענו אליהן לא יינקטו צעדים נגד ישראל כתוצאה מיישום ההחלטות. אני מודה לכל מי שעסק בדיאלוג ובשיח ותרם להגעה להבנות בשני הצדדים. אינני יכול להבטיח שלא יהיו משברים נוספים בעתיד. אם יהיו - נעמוד בהם על בסיס עקרונותינו. חשוב להדגיש שוב שלא אנחנו יזמנו את המשבר הנוכחי. אנחנו מעוניינים ביחסים טובים עם כל מדינות העולם. אבל כל מדינה שתפעל נגד ישראל צריכה לדעת שיהיה לכך מחיר. היא לא תרוויח מכך, אלא להיפך. הסתיימה תקופת ההכלה הישראלית - במישור הבטחוני והמדיני כאחד.

Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, in addressing a special memorial ceremony for the victims of October 7, attended by ambassadors from around the world. Three years later, our enemies -Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis - still openly seek Israel’s destruction. We will never lose sight of what our enemies still plan to do.

It was a pleasure to welcome Paraguay’s Vice President @AllianaPedro on his first visit to Israel, accompanied by Foreign Minister my dear friend @rramirezlezcano and Environment Minister Rolando de Barros Barreto. Paraguay is one of Israel’s closest and most steadfast friends. Since the October 7 massacre, it has stood firmly by our side, against terrorism and antisemitism and in defence of Israel. We discussed the importance of Ethiopia’s unity and stability, and our shared interest in preserving peace and stability in the Horn of Africa. Israel greatly values its longstanding close friendship with Ethiopia and looks forward to further strengthening the ties between our countries. 🇮🇱🤝🇪🇹

Shameful, outrageous, but sadly not surprising. The desecration of the exhibition commemorating the victims of October 7 at the European Parliament by radical-left MEP Rima Hassan says above all how little respect she has for the very institution in which she serves. I commend the Members of the European Parliament who immediately condemned this disgraceful act, and thank @EP_President Roberta Metsola for her determination and for making clear that such an offense will be dealt with in the strongest terms.

Good meeting in Jerusalem today with Senator @jameslankford, a great friend of Israel and the Jewish people. I thanked him for coming to Israel at this deeply significant time, to stand with us as we commemorate the victims of the October 7 massacre. I spoke just an hour ago with my friend, the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, @ABZayed. During our warm conversation, we expressed our mutual determination to strengthen the relations between our countries at all levels and to work together against extremist elements seeking to harm security and undermine stability in the region. I updated my colleague on the return of the Israeli passengers. The Emirati Foreign Minister said he was happy to hear that all the Israeli passengers had returned home safely.

Following the entry into force last week of an order banning the import and sale of products from Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, we informed the Dutch Embassy in Israel this evening that Dutch diplomats operating in Ramallah must return their Israeli-issued diplomatic documentation within seven days. After this period, the diplomatic privileges and immunities granted to them by the State of Israel will expire. If the Netherlands wishes to continue representing its interests with the Palestinians, it may do so from Palestinian Authority territory, rather than from the territory of the State of Israel. Last month, we removed the Dutch delegation from the International Support Center for Gaza in Kiryat Gat, following actions taken by the Dutch Government against Israel. I reiterate: Israel will not ignore measures intended to harm it. Any country that acts in a hostile and unilateral manner against Israel will lose influence and relevance in the region. I also reiterate the urgent need to address the growing antisemitism and incitement openly seen on the streets of the Netherlands. Not only are this antisemitism and incitement not being seriously addressed, but the anti-Israel policies of the Dutch Government are fueling them.

לאור כניסתו לתוקף בשבוע שעבר של צו האוסר על יבוא וסחר במוצרים מיהודה ושומרון, מזרח ירושלים ורמת הגולן, הודענו הערב לשגרירות הולנד בישראל, כי על הדיפלומטים ההולנדים הפועלים ברמאללה להחזיר בתוך 7 ימים את התיעוד הדיפלומטי שהונפק להם על ידי ישראל. בתום תקופה זו - יפקעו החסינויות והזכויות שהוענקו להם על ידי מדינת ישראל במסגרת זו. ככל שהולנד מעוניינת להמשיך ולייצג האינטרסים שלה מול הפלסטינים, היא יכולה לעשות זאת משטחי הרשות הפלסטינית ולא משטחה של מדינת ישראל. כזכור, בחודש שעבר הרחקנו את הנציגות ההולנדית ממרכז התמיכה הבינלאומי לעזה הפועל מקרית גת בעקבות פעילות ממשלת הולנד נגד ישראל. אני חוזר ומדגיש, כי ישראל לא תעבור לסדר היום על מהלכים שנועדו לפגוע בה. כל מדינה שתפעל באופן עויין וחד צדדי נגד ישראל - תאבד מהשפעתה ומהרלוונטיות שלה באזור. כמו כן, אני מדגיש את הצורך הדחוף לטפל באנטישמיות ובהסתה הגואה בגלוי ברחובות הולנד. לא רק שאנטישמיות והסתה גלויה זאת אינה זוכה לטיפול משמעותי, אלא שמדיניותה האנטי ישראלית של ממשלת הולנד - מזינה אותה.
